CONTEST ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS:
To enter the contest, entrants must use their personal Instagram account to upload a video explaining, “Why I Love Africa”. Entrants must follow Rhino Africa’s Instagram profile (@rhinoafrica) and when posting their video entry on Instagram must include “@rhinoafrica” and the hashtag “#LOVEAFRICA” in the caption. Entries that do not follow these rules – ie do not include the video along with “@rhinoafrica” and the hashtag “#LOVEAFRICA” will not be valid. If the entrant does not have an Instagram account, they can create a free Instagram account by downloading the Instagram app available at the App Store for an iPhone/iPad or in Google Play for an Android device. The entry video must be a maximum of fifteen seconds (Instagram standard) and must, in those seconds, portray why the entrant loves Africa.
Entries must be received before midnight CAT on Friday 24 January 2014.
The prize winner must be 18 years old or older.
Entrants are permitted to enter more than one video entry.
The winner will be selected from the 12 most popular videos based on Instagram likes.
The twelve most popular videos, based on Instagram likes, will be announced on Monday 27 January 2014.
Entrants may share their entry on other social media channels, such as Facebook and Twitter, but should note that only Instagram “likes” count in the final tally of votes.
The winner will be selected from the final twelve and will be judged by five travel industry experts. The winner will be announced on Monday 3 February 2014.
The shortlisted Top 12 will be notified via their Instagram account, through which Rhino Africa will also request further personal contact details such as email and telephone. The winner will be notified via email or telephone thereafter and via Rhino Africa’s social media networks.
Submissions will be judged based on creativity, quality, popularity and originality.
Judges’ decision is final.
THE PRIZE: The grand prize is valid for two people sharing and includes three nights at MannaBay, including breakfast and afternoon tea, and three nights at Lion Sands River Lodge (in a luxury room), including all meals, teas/coffees, two game drives daily, game drive refreshments, and safari activities. The prize also includes all internal flights and international flights based on economy class travel for non-South African residents not living in South Africa only. For South African residents or winners living or already travelling in South Africa, no international flights will be included.
PRIZE CONDITIONS: The prize is subject to availability and excludes peak season (15 December – 15 January). The prize is not transferrable, exchangeable or substitutable. The prize may not be exchanged for cash. The prize must be claimed and booked by the winner before 31 July 2014 and is valid for travel with a return date no later than 15 December 2015. Prize accommodations and destinations may not be substituted.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS:
The entry video must be the work solely of, and totally original to, the entrant. Entry videos may not include any collaborative or third party copyrighted material (including but not limited to photography or art work) unless such material is in the public domain (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media). If Rhino Africa is notified that any element of a video infringes upon the rights of another person and/or receives a legally valid request (in Rhino Africa’s sole discretion) to remove or invalidate the affected video because of infringement, that video may be disqualified, in Rhino Africa’s sole discretion. The entry video may not otherwise misappropriate or infringe upon the intellectual property rights of a third party.
The entry video must not have been previously published. Any video that has received an award from another competition or contest or that has been optioned or purchased by a third party is not eligible as an entry for this contest. To qualify for the competition, entrants must have the written permission of any third party who appears in the video to use the video for any purpose, including commercial purposes, but the winner will only be the entrant submitting the video (no group entries). Entrants should identify themselves by first name only in the video, if at all, and should not provide any other personally identifying information – if they do, they are releasing Rhino Africa from any and all liability associated with public disclosure of such information in the video. Any person who appears in the video must be at least 18 years old.
The entry video must not include images of any object, location or building with brand names or logos, other than Rhino Africa’s brand name or logo; contain any personal identification, such as license plate number(s), personal name(s), e-mail address(es), or street address(es), unless it is information that belongs solely to the entrant, in which case the entrant, by including the information releases Rhino Africa from any and all liability associated with public disclosure of such information in the video). The entry video must not mention any third party company names; must not depict or encourage a violation of any law or regulation or in any way violate any law or regulation; must not depict Rhino Africa, or any group or individuals, or Africa negatively.
The entry video submitted must be suitable for general audiences (may not be obscene, indecent or objectionable, including but not limited to nudity, pornography, violent, illegal or profane depictions, in Rhino Africa’s sole discretion). The video must not contain content that is in bad taste or is controversial in the way it portrays any group or individuals; must not be derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group.
If a dispute arises as to the identity of an entrant, the entrant will be considered the person who owns the Instagram account through which the entry was submitted.
By entering this contest, entrants give Rhino Africa the right to post their entry, including the video and Instagram username, on www.whyweloveafrica.com, instagram.com/rhinoafrica, www.facebook.com/rhinoafrica, or other public websites. Rhino Africa reserves the right to moderate or to feature and conversely not feature any video entry. By entering this contest, entrants assign all ownership rights and usage rights to the entry video to Rhino Africa, granting Rhino Africa permission to use the video on its website and in other marketing material.
Rhino Africa will not be held liable for any damage, loss of life or property or injuries incurred during the making of any entry video whatsoever.
While the #LOVEAFRICA website does show hashtagged images, these are not eligible for the competition. Only videos are eligible.
Rhino Africa staff and family are not eligible to win the competition but may still enter.
